Pine and Pangolin was born from the shared vision of husband-and-wife duo Xinlin Zhang and Kimberly Foytlin-Zhang, who combined the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the traditions of Southern folk craft. Their mission is to create holistic, nature-based remedies that heal both body and spirit, drawing on their unique expertise and cultural heritage to craft products that inspire balance and well-being
Coming from a lineage of traditional acupuncturists, Xinlin Zhang, D.A.O.M. LAc, is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with extensive training in both acupuncture and herbal medicine. He earned his Doctoral degree from Pacific College of Health and Science in Manhattan, NY.
Xinlin specializes in pain management, chronic illness, and sports medicine, and works with a wide range of concerns, including stress, digestive issues, and emotional imbalance. Using acupuncture, he supports the body’s natural healing responses by helping improve circulation, calm the nervous system, and reduce tension and discomfort.
Alongside acupuncture, Xinlin designs personalized herbal formulas to further support each person’s specific needs, offering a comprehensive and individualized approach to long-term wellness.
Kimberly grew up in a Southern family with a long line of everyday ingenuity, where common aches, colds, and small first‑aid needs were often met with whatever was already on hand—something from the kitchen, the yard, or the cabinet. Keeping these stories of practicality and trust in what was available, whether from nature or the home, shaped how she thinks about care.
She carries a deep respect for the earth and everything it has to offer, and believes that what we take from it must be approached with care and responsibility. Raised in a community that blended Southern charm with open‑mindedness, Kimberly believes health and wellness should be accessible to everyone. Pine and Pangolin grew out of this belief: a way to honor the earth, educate the community, and offer safe, thoughtfully made herbal wellness to those who want to learn, explore, and heal at their own pace.
Together, Xinlin Zhang, D.A.O.M., and Kimberly Foytlin‑Zhang bring their distinct backgrounds into a shared commitment to accessible, nature‑based care. Xinlin draws on his training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and herbal medicine, while Kimberly carries forward a Southern tradition of everyday ingenuity—using what’s on hand, from the home and the earth, to support common needs.Rooted in deep respect for the body and the natural world, their work through Pine and Pangolin is focused on education, safety, and practicality. They aim to make herbal and acupuncture‑based support understandable and within reach, offering tools, guidance, and thoughtfully crafted remedies so people can participate in their own healing in ways that feel grounded, informed, and welcoming.
